Where It All Started
Skybird Woodcrafts was born from a simple truth: the best things in life are made by hand, with care, by people who take pride in what they build.
After serving in the United States Air Force, our founder brought the same discipline, precision, and attention to detail from military service into the workshop. What started as a passion for woodworking grew into something bigger — a small business dedicated to creating art that people are proud to display in their homes and give to the people they love.
Today, every piece that leaves our Massachusetts workshop carries that same spirit: built right, finished with care, and made to be treasured.
What We Create
We specialize in 3D layered shadow boxes and wood sculptures that bring remarkable depth and dimension to any space. Each piece is laser-cut with precision, then individually hand-painted and carefully assembled layer by layer.
The result is art that doesn't just hang on a wall — it pulls you in. Light plays across the layers, shadows shift as you move, and details reveal themselves the longer you look. From majestic wildlife scenes to patriotic displays, from holiday heirlooms to personalized keepsakes, every piece tells a story in three dimensions.
Our full collection includes shadow boxes, 3D sculptures, woodburned portraits, laser-engraved plaques, custom photo etchings, and handcrafted specialty items — all made right here in our workshop.
How Each Piece Comes to Life
There are no shortcuts in our process. Every item is made from start to finish in our workshop — never outsourced, never mass-produced.
Step 1
Design & Cut
Each design is carefully planned layer by layer, then precision laser-cut from premium Baltic Birch plywood for clean, detailed edges.
Step 2
Hand-Paint
Every individual layer is hand-painted by our artisan. No two pieces are exactly alike — that's the beauty of handcrafted work.
Step 3
Assemble
Layers are carefully aligned and assembled to create the signature 3D depth effect. Some pieces have 14 or more layers working together.
Step 4
Inspect & Ship
Every piece is personally inspected before it leaves the shop. We pack with care so your art arrives in perfect condition.
